GIIS KL recently hosted an engaging and vibrant Inter-House Word Weaver Activity for its Standard 1 and 2 students on October 7, 2026. Held in their respective classrooms, the event was designed to celebrate the richness of the English language while fostering essential learning outcomes aligned with the school's 9 Gems; specifically Academic Excellence, Personality Development, Innovation and Creativity, and Skill Development, as well as Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), and 17 (Partnership for the Goals).

The morning commenced with a thoughtful introduction emphasizing the growing importance of language proficiency in today’s interconnected world. Teachers highlighted how strong vocabulary and word-building skills not only enhance communication but also nurture confidence, critical thinking, and creativity among young learners. Following the opening remarks, the participants dove into the core challenge: given a single base word, students raced against the clock to generate as many valid words as possible within a 30-minute timeframe. This task tested not only their vocabulary knowledge but also their ability to think quickly, strategically, and imaginatively under pressure.

The classrooms were charged with enthusiasm as the young minds eagerly worked to showcase their linguistic prowess and appreciate the joy of wordplay. The event successfully encouraged learners to explore the power of expression, making it a memorable and enriching experience for all participants.
